Default WTB: Ultraportable

Looking for a well priced ultra-portable, 12.1" Looking for something relatively light and sturdy. I would prefer wide-screen. RAM and Video Memory are more important to me than overall processor speed.

Price limit: $700.

Willing to listen to any offers on any ultraportable, I'm not against any brand except for Acer and Gateway

Located in Toronto, will use Paypal.

Cheers.

I'm looking at something a little older but nothing that skimps on performance. I don't need anything for gaming as I have a desktop replacement for that already, but I would like something that's snappy and doesn't stutter, that will allow me to use Photoshop at the most, and also watching movies. I'm looking into possibly a Dell D410, or a Lenovo V100. I'm also interested in looking at a Portege R200. A tablet notebook or one that can flip and rotate the screen would be useful, but not necessary.

Any other offers will be considered, though.

Why don't you find a friend over the border and go with this Dell deal

Well, doing the comparisons on notebookreview and other places I've found that the D420 is actually slower than the D410. I wasn't overly impressed with the benchmarks and have constantly read that it's a slow machine, even in comparison to the Pentium M and D410.

If I could I'd buy an X61s but I don't have the $ for that

But the notebook is mainly going to be used for office applications, surfing, watching movies and maybe photoshop. So an older computer will do, but I still want something snappy. I'm still leaning towards the D410 as it's comparatively faster and cheaper than the X41 (although I'm enticed by how light the X41 is!).

Well it looks like I'm leaning towards the D410 for about $500 in the next couple of days.

If anyone can show me a better deal, let me know!
