Have you looked at the Vostro 1500/Inspiron 1520(use coupons to lower the price) from dell?

Re: WTB: 14.1" - 15.4" Gaming Laptop
If you are a hardcore gamer I dont think the 15inch portable screen is right for you. Right now I think the best card you can get is the 8600 which is no good IMO for a high end gaming pc. If there is a better card out there for the 15 inch screen it def. will not fit the 1000 budget. Are you strickly looking for a laptop? Inless portable is the only way you can go I would consider a desktop gaming rig for the $1000 budget.

What desktop could you find for $1000 that would have anything better than an 8600?
8800s themselves are atleast 300-400 + price for the rest of the components...

In April 2007, I built a desktop with an 8800GTS, an e4400 C2D, 2 GB RAM, 400 GB HDD, and a Gigabyte 965 motherboard for less than $900. You could get better components for less today.

There's no such thing as a gaming 14 inch laptop. Try to find a 15 inch with an 8600 GS or GT for under $1000. (dell?)

8800GTX can be had for around 250-300
Core 2 Duo E6750 with a good board for 250 (I picked up a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with a Abit board for 300)
Memory is around 30 bucks
DVD Drive is 30
160gb HDD is 40
What else do you want?

Re: WTB: 14.1" - 15.4" Gaming Laptop
Just to clarify a few things:
1- Dell is my last opinions for a laptop. (Looking for primarily Asus, Acer, Sony, Sager)
2- I'm not a hardcore gamer, I play mostly NBA Live, Madden and occassionally FPS games.
3- I need a portable computer, hence laptop, since I'm always traveling for work. Desktop is NOT an option for me.
Thanks for all your response.

I'm pretty sure you gotta give him a price range on these forums.
Anyways, the s96j would be a great laptop for what you described. I had one of these and it was reliable, built far more solid than a Dell or HP ever has been or ever will be, and for the price was very fast for a laptop. If the price is right maybe jump in on this one.
