Price Check - Sager 8790
Sager 8790-C
17" WSXGA+ LCD (WideScreen 1680 X 1050)
P4 3.2GHZ Northwood CPU
256MB ATI Radeon Mobility 9700
2048MB DDR400 Dual Channel (2-1GB)
Dual 60GB 7200RPM
8x DVD+- combo drive with DVD+R DL
Subwoofer + 8 Cell battery
USB Floppy Drive (To install RAID 0/1 drivers)
56K RJ11 Phone Modem
10/100/1000 NIC
Internal 802.11g 108Mbps
Internal 7-in-1 Card Reader
Integrated 1.3MP Camera
I want $1000 for it... am I shooting too high?
I figured the CPU, RAM, LCS, and the dual HDD's would justify at least $800.

Re: Price Check - Sager 8790
How much did you pay for it originally? How long have you owned it? After the first year, you can expect up to about 1/2 what you originally paid. Outside of the first year, more like a little less than 1/3 - a little less than 1/2, depending on the condition of the notebook and the market's demand.

Re: Price Check - Sager 8790
I'd say $800 is about the best you can expect.

Re: Price Check - Sager 8790
i think 800 is pushing it.
The laptop has a p4 (horrible for mobile platforms), a now 3 generation old GPU, and a small hard drive.
I could not see this going for any more than 500 dollars.

Re: Price Check - Sager 8790
It does support dual hard drives and has a large screen. That might appeal to some buyers.
But I do agree, $800 would be the most the seller could expect. Probably, less.

Re: Price Check - Sager 8790
I could see this notebook selling for about $700, maybe more depending on condition and extras included.

Thanks for the exact number; I'd take that in a heartbeat.
I bought the laptop in 11/04, so it's coming up on its 3rd birthday.
Ok.... what should I start the bidding on eBay on this? $500? Is that the average of what everyone's saying?
