i seen the ata-6 is not SATA....is ata-6 PATA? i have a gateway mt3705 and have been thinking of upgrading since this only has a 4200rpm drive. if ata-6 is PATA, do you think there would be a noticable difference with a T2250 processor?

I'm pretty sure ata-6 is PATA. I originally bought it for my notebook, but after I took my old hard drive out, I realized that it was SATA, so I ordered an identical hard drive but SATA instead.

well if anyone can verify that ata-6 is pata i would def be interested. i looked on tiger direct and they have sata and pata drives. then newegg has ata-6 and sata drives. i dont know much at all about these different drives so i want to make sure im getting what i need. like i said, if this is what i need im interested.

Hope this clears it up. ata-6 is just a standard.
