Default WTB Good used laptop

Looking to spend up to $500 for a good used laptop for grad studies. Anyone got something quiet and well cared for with a good 14" or larger screen? Battery condition, weight, not an issue as it will spend 95% of its time on a desk. My Toshiba 2100 CDT with its AMD450 is a great little machine but its 4GB harddrive is filling fast and the small vid card it has is not fond of running dual monitors.

Check out http://www.affordablecomputers.com/pages/ and http://www.laptopcloseout.com/

I've never ordered anything from either place, so I can't vouch for the experience. However, I have directed folks to Affordable Computers and a few have purchased machines from there and I haven't heard any complaints on the machine or the buying experience.

If you can cough up another $500 or so, I'd also suggest http://www.clearanceclub.com/ Now, I have purchased 3 machines from this organization and have been extremely pleased with the prices, machine condition, and buying experience.

Thanks for the links. Just picked up a Inspiron 7500 off Ebay for just under my price limit. Hope it works out []
