You can find all Xp drivers in the following link:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...all_docs=false

the drivers are for "Tecra M8-ST3094" that is same copy of U305.

Do you put this driver in when you install XP?

But how does it read it during the install process of XP?

You either slip stream the drivers on the installation CD or use a USB floppy and when the install process starts press F6 right at the begining and you will see it prompt you for F6 at the bottom of the screen to let XP know that you have the floppy with the 3rd party drivers XP will automatically look at the floppy then gives you the list of the driver it found and select the non raid drivers and hit enter.

you can download the F6 floppy driver from intel's websitehttp://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...ional&lang=eng

you need to have a floppy drive to extract this file. it will automatically creates a driver diskette for xp. During the installation, you must press F6 button, and specify the driver location (that is a: by default).

I installed the XP Pro with SP2 with this floppy, then installed other drivers from Tecra M8-ST3094's driver page.

USB floppy drive? Why not a USB drive?

I think Slipsteam is better with a CD.

This is really going backwards.

you need a floppy drive (USB), because during windows XP installation, when you are pressing F6, only valid drive is a floppy drive, and it can not detect any usb drive.

Oh man. This is difficult.

I would rather do slipstream. There are sites that can show you how to do it.

I dont have a U305 yet. I still cant decide between this or the D430.

nLite-1.4.rc2.installer

google this product, and it will slipstream your XP disc and the floppy drivers into a new disc. I also streamlined the network card drivers, the chipset drivers, and the KB888111 fix into mine. The BKB888111 from microsoft must be done on the X205-Sli3, or the audio and modem won't show up on the HD Audio Bus.

Hello - first post - just got the u305 and am trying desperately to put XP pro on it. I don't have a usb floppy and I've tried the slipstream to get the SATA driver installed to no avail. I downloaded the driver from the intel website as well as from the Toshiba website and tried it with both. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Edit - ps - I'm not even sure I'm pulling in the right driver.
