I just tried mine out for the first time with my 1420 and it works great... they're really small and light and fit in the expresscard slot without sticking out like the $50 bluetooth one that Dell also sells.

Jason... these are listed on the Dell site as refurbished, but they look brand new (include new batteries, etc.). Considering the short amount of time that they've been available, and that this is the only option for getting one from Dell separate from a system, I would lean toward them all being new. When you see the remote, there's not much to actually refurbish on one of them... and I think these would show signs of some wear if they were used at all.
