Default How much is this worth?

Hello,
I'd like to get some opinions on how much my laptop is worth if i was looking to sell it (on ebay for example)
HP zx5000 CTO
40GB HD
512 ram (1 stick)
128 dedicated radeon video (radeon 9700 or 9600. cant remember off the top of my head)
built in 802.11b wireless
15.4" WXGA. there is a very small discoloration on the screen itself in one spot, but it does not affect the viewing in any way at all.
some small scratches on the outside, but nothing major or that gets in the way of using the laptop.
two 12 cell batteries, plus the ac adapter and all the software and CDs that came with it originally.

how much is it worth?

I'd agree under $1000 seems about right. Go over to ebay and see what the prices are for similar notebooks. eBay can be erratic. Sometimes I've gotten a lot more than I thought and sometimes I've gotten a lot less. As an example, I sold a laptop hard drive on there last June. Originally it sold for $35 bucks which I was kind of bummed about casue I was hoping to get $50. The orginal buyer never paid so I re-listed and got $70 for the same drive. The orignal auction ended at 8:00 P.M. when everybody's at home, right? The second auction ended at 6:30 A.M. Go figure? Another thing to keep in mind, selling a laptop on ebay will bring out a lot of scammers especially if you have a low amount feedback. Make sure you put on their you only ship to a confirmed PayPal address and you will wait for the check/money order to clear before shipping. I sold a laptop on ebay. I got four scammers before I found a legitimate buyer. ebay is good about refunding you money, but it is a hassle. If you think something smells funny, head over to the forums on ebay. You'll get lots of help. Good Luck.

Those prices seem about right. Screen problems really affect the values of laptops.
