For Sale: Dell Inspiron E1405 *BROKEN TOUCHPAD*

I have a Mint Condition Dell Inspiron E1405 Laptop for sale however the touchpad/2 mouse buttons/media buttons DO NOT WORK. I'm not sure why however if you are good with computers you may be able to fix it. Otherwise, you can plug in a USB/Wireless/Bluetooth Mouse into the laptop and use the laptop just fine. Includes A/C Adapter. Will clean out the system and install Windows XP Home Edition for you to start with a clean slate.

The casing inside and out on the laptop is brand new & still has the plastic on it. The keyboard is also brand new.

-Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Module
-53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

I purchased this system for $875. Looking for $600 as I need to buy a new laptop. It's extremely fast however due to the fact that i don't always have a surface such as a desk to use a wireless mouse on, this laptop no longer suits my needs. If you plan on using this laptop as a replacement to a desktop it would be perfect!

Nice laptop and good price. Is it still under warranty? If so you could just have Dell repair the touchpad for you. If it's not under warranty and you feel a bit adventurous, you can remove the palmrest (dell has a service manual on their support page that tells you how) and check the cable between the touchpad and the motherboard. A replacement touchpad from a dell parts store or ebay will only cost something like 20-30 dollars I believe.

i don't know how to fix these things and i don't know whats wrong with it. It is out of warrenty as of 3 days ago, hence why Dell won't fix it for free and that is why I'm selling it.

If someone wants the spare part for the mousepad (and keyboard deck) that I have from my 630m (same design as E1405) you can PM me as well. I got it from eBay almost two years ago to do a painting experiment I never did, but I think it would work.

No thanks i have no idea if its the mousepad itself or the connection or the motherboard. I'm going to just try and sell it.

I realize that. I'm just saying if someone else wants to buy your laptop and try and repair it I have a part that might do it.

It might be a good idea to fix the laptop before selling it. No one is going to pay $600 for a broken 14.1" desktop replacement notebook when they can get a new Dell Vostro 1400/1500 with better specs for $599.
