Fixes

Fixes an intermittent issue where the Intel Processor SpeedStep function may not work correctly with the Microsoft Windows XP Operating System and the previous version of the BIOS.

Enhancements

Adds hard drive header protection when the notebook enters Standby or Hibernation power management modes or when the notebook restarts.

You should always update to a new BIOS in my opinion.

It could only improve things, not worsen them.

I'm a firm believer of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" But, you should be fine upgrading to a new BIOS from HP.

I plan to upgrade to this BIOS this evening. I'll post about it once I do so.

I already did that yesterday. From F11 to F23. Don't have any problem. Still, don't really know if it helps me anything

I checked the bottom of my lappy and it says dv2100. Can I still use this bios upgrade? But when I do CTO, I was configuring dv2000t.

That should be the same. However, if you want to play safe, just go for DV2100. Link is here -> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...844535&lang=en

As far as I know, as long as it's an Intel system, the BIOS will be the same.

But, it's still a good idea to play it safe.

Just updated and now I can' t run Safend Personal Protector (little program that protects from peripherlas conected to compute ports). Also when I use the volume keys 2 volume meters appear.

No big issues but HP can't seem to put out anything right from the get go.
