Macbook Pro Wobble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe this is a common problem but couldn't really find any solutions. It's on a flat surface but the front right corner (under the right palm rest) seems to be a bit higher than all the others and it's very annoying. Every time I put my hand on it it wobbles and it drives me crazy. I'm very angry at it right now, what should I do?

Are you missing one of the rubber feet on the bottom?

I don't believe it is a common problem and I have a rather recent machine from late last year. I only had it happen once to my macbook pro, when i bumped it on my driveway. The aluminum is notorious for deforming, but a light tap with the hammer fixed that problem!

Well, there is nothing you can do if you aren't still under warranty as Apple would charge an arm and a leg just to fix it. A trip to the genius bar should solve things if your MBP is still covered by Apple's warranty.

Also, you can always add a little padding to the right front bumper. Craft stores sell small, circular plastic stick things that go underneath objects when you want to raise them up by a small amount. There are also felt ones but I have come across black plastic ones that almost look like circular pieces of electrical tape.

I'm a bit confused here, the OP never stated if he just bought the MBP? I do see in his signature that he has a late 2011 but if he just bought it then he should just take it back to the store and get an exchange. If he's past his return policy and just noticed this wobble then it should be covered under warranty provided there's no evidence of physical damage. Apple will take care of it, no need to be angry over it...frustrated yes but angry, not worth it.

Okay, yes, I bought it two or three months ago and I'm definitely under warranty. What I did several days ago, though, is I put it on my lap and pressed fairly hard onto the front right corner and it seemed to have stopped it, but then yesterday it came back. So I did the same thing and it stopped it again but I don't want to have to do that every few days lest I damage something inside. I don't know if I should take it to the Apple store; maybe I should just wait and hope it corrects itself. I was thinking maybe there was a simple solution or something but apparently there isn't.

Be realistic about it, it's not going to correct itself. The metal is warped. Take it to Apple or call Applecare and send it to them and they should replace your bottom plate. Don't keep bending it back in place, at some point you may end up giving yourself a real reason to be angry, haha. . Apple's factories have been on the news quite a bit so if you haven't noticed they are all built on a standard assembly line in China and it's bound to happen that you get a defective product. They should take care of you.

Bending it back like that can cause different things to happen of which Apple will not repair. What's the big deal with taking it into the Apple Store? Is it haunted and the ghost is going to follow you home? It really won't be that big of an issue. Just take it in, they will look at it, and you will be presented with a solution. Things are much easier to do in person and problems are normally solved faster so I don't recommend sending it off to Apple (unless you like being on the phone for 345345 hours trying to explain things to a call center employee).

Make a Genius Bar appointment, let them see that it is warped, and they will fix it. Problem solved. No temporary solution, no (eventual) user damage voiding the warranty, nothing along those lines.
