Yeah, I agree this is getting interesting. Ha, maybe some punk at the assembly line is trying to be funny & fitted a MBA screen into the MB?!?!

This is really getting more & more interesting. Found out from Macrumors forum that there are a couple of people (as of now) who posted that they've got the screen, 9CA5, in their newly purchased MBs. So now we have 2 new screen IDs in the latest MBs. One is 9CA8 & the other is 9CA5. Maybe Apple really use newer & better screens after all in the latest MBs.

Maybe they were using old stock from older MB's, Didn't the white ones have the same screen quality?

Just so you know, Mac is not a acronym, that means it is Mac not MAC. Also It's OS X not OSX, It is pronounced O-S-10. X is the roman numeral for 10. kthanksbye.

I think the old white Macbooks didn't have an LED screen back then. I know the new one do. So that makes it not possible for Apple to be using old stock since the new ones are LED backlit.

Does LED backlit really matter though? Can't you use the same LCD panel with either LED or CCFL lighting?

LCD panels with LED & CCFL back-lights exhibit different behaviors. One main difference is that CCFL back-lights require some time to warm up to the selected brightness levels while the LED back-lights can do it instantly.

If one was to be replaced by the other without specifically stating it in the specs will mean "cheating." No?
