Re: NBR Apple Core
You know that you can send in those ipod nanos to get the newest ipod nano's in exchange for free, the 8GB version? Because those older ones recently got called back due to bad batterys, this is all free to do! It's those ipod nanos that has like a 1" touch display that you get instead, really nice!

Re: NBR Apple Core
I didn't know about the Nano Replacement Program until I read your comment!! THANKS ALOT.
My brother bought the 1st gen nano and it stopped working awhile back so it's been sitting around for years. Haha. When he first bought it I was b!tching and yelling because, even though I adore apple products, they are well overpriced and we're not that well off. I've never bought anything Apple, but both my brothers own an Iphone.
Feels good knowing the $130 was well spent afterall.
Again, thanks alot!! Coincidence how today was the first day I've ever looked through the Apple forum and got something out of it. Must be a sign telling me to go Apple and drop Windows.

Re: NBR Apple Core
I am now a proud owner of a 2011 MBA 13

I have been using windows all my life, so this is my first foray to OS X. I am still at awe on how smooth my user experience is so far with this Air. I am supposed to get an Envy 14 Spectre (pre-configured, 128gb ssd), but after realizing that the same price I can get a 256gb ssd MBA, I jumped ship, and I think I made the right decision. Boot up/shut down is amazing. Also, this Air's humble processor is able to handle flash really well. I am really happy with my purchase so far.
One question, I have some licensed games I used to play on my old laptop (Starcraft 2 and Dragon Age: Origins). Is it possible to install them on my Air running OS X? Like I get a OS X version installer of those games then use my license?
(I know MBA isn't a gaming notebook, I just want to try)Current notebook:

Re: NBR Apple Core
you can install SC2 on OSX, however DAO is a big no no as far as I know.
What you can do is to install windows via bootcamp, I have a windows partition for visual studio and gamingThe cake is a lie, there is only pie, through pie I gain calories, through calories I gain fat, through fat my belt is broken, the recliner shal free me...

Re: NBR Apple Core
Like most Blizzard games, SC2 has a Mac OS installer built right on to the disc. If you have a digital download, you should be able to download the installer from your Blizzard account.
For DA:O, you would need to buy the game again. Though it's not the case for this specific title, many OS X ports are done by 3rd parties.
If you have any games through Steam, some of them are playable on the Mac without having to re-buy.

Re: NBR Apple Core
I contacted EA support, they said I should be able to install DA:O w/o problems. I tried anyway, and you guys are right, I am unable to install it.
For SC2, I was able to install it as you all said. Perfect. Thanks for the advice.

Re: NBR Apple Core
Appreciation thread! While I will be going with a different laptop in the coming months, my macbook lasted nearly 5 years and was still fast and awesome till my battery failed.

Just picked up my 5th MBP 15" (previously owned 4 others since the Titanium MBP days). I got the early 2011 2.3Ghz, 8gb RAM, 750gb HDD w/ Matte Hi-Res screen.
ML is so snappy on this machine. Compiling & re-learning Ubuntu is so sweet that I can't make up my mind on which OS to use full-time yet. Probably whatever is needed at the time.
