I'm happy that I didn't get the polycarbonate/plastic model, I looked at it in store and it does feel pretty solid, but it just doesn't look as nice as the Aluminum model. Plus, I like the LED backlight on the display anyway.

I use to be a Mac basher when I was younger, but I didn't know anything. Now I do know quite a bit (Not a lot compared to others on this site though) and I simply love this little computer.

It might not have the same graphics punch as my Asus, but this isn't a gaming laptop. However, Half Life does run extremely well under Windows. Thats all I play anyway lol

I'm still checking out the Mac OS and just basically making a mess of things I'm sure.
Congrats again! The backlit keyboard is a cool feature, but if you're on a tight budget, I can most certainly understand. The aluminum was a good choice, as mine feels sturdy and solid. Games run great under Boot Camp, but only if you have the right drivers. Nothing wrong with Boot Camp drivers, but you can get more beefy ones from l2g or Nvidia. OS X will come to you soon enough, and I'm sure you'll be hassle-free.

Oh not to worry, I'm starting to get the hang of how things are done on OS X. Its a little bit different than Windows, but a lot of it is the same too.

Just pulled the trigger last night on a new Macbook Pro 17" as it became apparent there was no resuscitating my aging Sager D900T. The motherboard (the 2nd) finally gave out. I use several apps that are only native to windows and can be quite graphically intensive so I figured I'd be buying another pc workstation...seriously considered a dell, an hp and another sager, and i know they would have been faster, but then I realized that I really didn't care if one of my renders took an extra 2 hours. Most everything else would be worse.

My home is quiet as the fans on my Sager, all four of them, have turned for the last time. I'll never have to be embarrassed at airports anymore for having a laptop that doesn't fit into the x-ray machine bins, never have to discretely hide my carry-on bag at check-in for fear of the laptop putting me over the allowed weight limit. People won't mistake my power brick for a netbook.

Sorry for waxing lyrical, but I'm gald to be coming back to mac after 4 years of pc's.

Got some new signatures almost ready, just waiting to make some final changes/tweaks. They'll be out at the end of the weekend, at the latest.
