Re: Windows and mac share USB flash drive?
Yes, the same USB flash drive can be used in both operating systems perfectly fine, any file saved in either OS can be opened in the other. Mac OS X has lots of device drivers, so most products work on both Mac OS X and Windows, like cameras, flash drives, mice, keyboards, etc.

Re: Windows and mac share USB flash drive?
Yes you can. It will work seemlessly. Just know that it will just add .trashes folders and .versionsofyourfile files. These are completely harmless to your Linux, BSD or Win systems.

Re: Windows and mac share USB flash drive?
Cool. Thanks for the heads up about the added files as well. I got a cordless mouse and I figure I'll just put the drivers on the flash drive and transfer them over to the macbook IF it gets here tomorrow.

Re: Windows and mac share USB flash drive?
As long as it's formatted properly it will work fine with both (FAT).

Re: Windows and mac share USB flash drive?
macs can read NTFS but unfortunately they can't write to it natively. I believe there is a utility which may help.
This page (link below) explains it quite well.. how good it is I have no idea as I've not tried it, been meaning to but not had the spare time!

Yea any drive thats connected to osx will have hidden files with . periods infront.
Its just like a hidden file in windows, except in osx you just put a period infront to make it hidden.

Re: Windows and mac share USB flash drive?
I have an old 256mb flash drive so it works pretty well for me, I am not in need of bigger file storage yet.
