    That's the official company statement. The numbers are so low, there's no need to get worked up. Just wait until yours arrives. If you ordered an SSD, it should be a SATA3 model. It doesn't necessarily have to be from Samsung, but that's one of the drives we qualified for the system, and the one that seems to be shipping for now. If you did not receive SATA3, and you ordered one, then the above message is for you.

    Since I am still waiting on Allan to get back to my quote, and before I ordered, was curious if that was indeed a Samsung 830 as it's specs are pretty decent

    Otherwise, I would just order the M17 with the cheapest drive and buy the drive from Amazon ...

    Just looking for the best option before I order is all was trying to do

    The 'worked up' reference was a preemptive strike for those inclined to pick up the phone and suffer through phone menus and hold times. The problem will be ancient history by the time your system arrives, my friend.

    How long does it normally take for Allan to respond to your email with price?

    I'm interested in a Alienware M17 with 7970M option.

    I think he's striving to go for same-day response but it wouldn't surprise me if he's snowed under with a lot of requests via email! Hang in there - it'll all be good soon.
