M18X R2: same design-body ivy bridge cpu GTX660m-GTX675m-HD7970m I hope for better screen 120HZ 400nit or RGB-LED but those are dreams

conclusion: no redesign body,no m17x aluminum body,no other colors same red and black, same Edge to Edge glass on the screens no option for matte screens, no RGB-LED screens, boring

Alienware is ahead of Clevo for at least 2 or 3 years on design and features so no worries there
Yep. And if so, the only major "issue" to speculate about it remains... The display panel! (and the good disposition of Dellienware to listen to the costumers)

AW needs to watch out or Razer is going to put a dent in them in a few years. (The Blade is a good start.. imagine a whole lineup of machines from them)

They need to go thinner/lighter where possible.

    (Within reason).

From what we've seen so far I think Razer is catering to the fashionable with a bit of gaming crowd. Those who like the looks of macbook air but still want some gaming juice out of it. Razer would amke those for a while before they would even consider heavy bulky gaming laptop.

Ugh, here we go again with the Blade. That thing is not a competitor for the M17x. Looking at what it's packing, there's no excuse for it to be thicker.

Let's see Razer put M17x competitive hardware in their system and we'll see if size will remain the same.

Oh, its not competitive "now", especially on price. But i do think that in the next few years, as TDP's drop and Razer gets more traction, they can be a real player. I think with their design ideas and further refining, they will be a real competitor in the coming years.

Now.. I had the option to buy a Blade a few months ago and went with the M18X. The performance just isnt there.. yet.

But, you take a 660M M17X and a 660M Blade and put them both in front of consumers with a similar price point.. I think the majority would choose the Blade...

Now.. i don't want to derail the thread.. my point was.. i think Alienware should really start to take notice of Razer's machine and start to think of trying to trim down their machines slightly to be more attractive down the road.

I agree TBP, pretty disappointing that the new refreshes will still feature overweight and overly thick designs. However the hardware options are usually pretty high end, and as such it has swayed many(including myself) to become A.W owners.
