    Default Dell bought Alienware?

Please don't think I just crawled out from under a rock, but is it true that Dell bought out Alienware?! I sincerely hope this is not true, because I can tell you from personal experience with buying a "top of the line" laptop from Dell in 2006, that they build with the cheapest crap they can find, lie pathologically to you on the phone when you ask for them to support their product, then refuse to do anything to fix it, unless you fork over more money! This isn't "Dell bashing" it is the truth.
I would warn anybody that buying a Dell product is like playing Doom 3, but with the cheats turned off and on the "nightmare" difficulty setting! You know while you play, getting slaughtered at every turn, That eventually you will have to descend into Hell to battle the Boss Demon! LOL!
Seriously, I have one of those tricked-out XPS 1710m's that melted the connections on the video card, and got thrown both ends of the rope by "Dell Support!". Seems like the more you pay them for a system, the crappier the product and support becomes. I still have that $3000 paperweight in a closet, and every time I become the Slighest Bit Tempted to buy a Dell, I drag it out and look at it. Ha, Ha! And the desire leaves me very, very quickly.....
Oh, by the way, my other "top of the line" Dell desktop XPS had the hard drive and the DVD reader/burner both crap out......just after my expensive "extended" warranty ran out. And the LCD monitor is riddled with dead pixels.
Go figure....... For fun, go visit the I Hate Dell site, for lots of interesting stories by Dell owners and previous employees.

There a subsidiary of Dell, and still maintain independence on product line and advertisement.

And one bad experience, with any computer manufacturer is never enough to blame the whole company in itself. It's metaphorically to hating all black people because one black person stole your car; it's ignorant.

Anyway, and I think it's interesting that you expect people to take your advice, or "heed your warning" about Dell's horrible service, when you just seemingly discovered that dell had purchased alienware in 2011...

...I personally would disregard such advice from such a person, as it was a Garbage man trying to explain quantum mechanics or chemistry to me... FYI

Dell now fully runs Alienware, but they didn't really touch Alienware from 2006 when they acquired them until 2009 when they launched the new generation Alienwares.

Don't know why people bad mouth Dell, my family has been buying Dell since 1997, and me personally since 2005, NEVER had an issue. Returned my Dell Latitude E6410 from Outlet earlier this year, got an RMA set up in 2 minutes, return shipping label in my inbox in 1 hour, and Dell credited back my PayPal literally 1 hour after I shipped it back via FedEx store.
