Re: M18x Info Right on Dell's Website! With Proof!!!
I'm hoping they pretend like the M17x-R3 never happened and go back to the design used with the R1/R2. Adonized aluminum, RGB 1920*1200 (maybe with 3D if it's possible), touch sensitive buttons with the old design or a new better design, the option of SILVER (they NEED to bring this back), grill design goes back to the original look. If they bring back all these features, it will be a definite buy for me.

Re: M18x Info Right on Dell's Website! With Proof!!!
Alright, I've looked everywhere on the forums (well, or so I think), so would anyone help educate me on what the infamous RGB-LED is and how it differs from normal laptop screens?
I was dead set on buying a m17x-r3, but after seeing these news I think I'll wait and order an m18x whenever it launches. I have a G73 right now, and while I'm happy with it I hate that I can't seem to upgrade its drivers without it going wonky. I'm just wanting something to pump out Duke/Skyrim at full res no problem and I think SLI/Xfire will definitely help that.
Here's waiting for an announcement!

It's interesting how they're using the same 240W power adapter if this machine is indeed a multi discrete GPU system...

Re: M18x Info Right on Dell's Website! With Proof!!!
Don't forget the M17X R3 is a great PC and it answers a lot of the problems in the R2 for a lot of people such as weight, SLI/Crossfire issue, etc...
The M17X R3 is one of the only 17" gamers PC out there that can offer a 6970M with 5 hours or so of web browsing battery life not to forget the M17X R3 has the same power than an M17X R2 Crossfire 5870M at stock clocks... Don't under-estimate such a PC. It's a great gamer's PC with better than ever mobility.
That being said, the M18X will be for a different crowed and I do not think anymore that the M17X R3 was a mistake though I did for a long time.
The M18X is now the top of the top... It was a smart move for them to do so and me too I cannot wait until it comes out especially if an RGB LED screen is available...M17X R3: 2820QM, ATI 6970M, Intel 510 250Gb, 8Gb HyperX, Blu-Ray

Any news on the screen? maybe a configuration option for a wuxga RGB-LED 1920x1280? or... dreaming a little: perhaps a 2560x1600 res. in a 16:10 aspect ratio...?

Oh I didn't mean to discount the new features that the R3 is bringing to the table, I just don't approve of the new outer design elements.
I know the R3 is for a whole different crowd of people, but I just don't want Dell to keep everything the same when making the M18x.
