Re: Saving ££££ in the UK buying ANY Dell/AW system OR accessories - please contribute!
HIDevolution is legit, but they ship from the US so there are things like import tax to think about.
The below statement is false.

Yep. They are legitimate. Prices are good because they are US prices - much cheaper than the UK. As stated above, you will have to factor in the possibility of shipping and UK customs charges. You might get lucky and avoid import duty but if you dont, add another 20% to the total cost of your system....(includes 20% on the TOTAL cost INCLUSIVE of HiD's shipping fees)
Also, a few other things to think about are that HiD (by their own admissions) only put a shiping value of $500usd on your package so if it gets lost or damadged, your out of pocket BIG TIME as your machine would have cost far more - they do this to "try" and mitigate UK Duty for the end buyer....paying 20% on 500 works out less than paying 20% on the full cost if you do get caught by customs.
Returns. Not 100% on this but if you are not happy - you may have to pay return shipping to the states.....I would ask HiD.
Some people wil take the route of importing vs. buying in the UK - personally, I wouldnt take the risk on something so expensive, but each to their own. My rep wont be able to beat a US price but he can get you a reduced UK price which would obviously come with no additional duty/charges and you have peace of mind should you want to send it back in the returns period.
Might just be a glitch. Many reps have various tools on which to quote. I dont think they would stop taking orders, moreso for orders placed they would more than likely be held for delivery if they (Dell) intend to ship them with IvyBridge cpus'Last edited by steviejones133; 29th April 2012 at 05:04 AM.

Remember to keep an eye out on cashback sites like quidco/topcashback. I have used them and got 10% off the price plus 15% cashback later (of the EX VAT amount) on top of that. It was a much better deal than the reps could get me, on the m18x system I wanted.

Re: Saving ££££ in the UK buying ANY Dell/AW system OR accessories - please contribute!
I think the UK is behind the US!
I ordered the m14xr2 the day after it was released, i had to direct the rep to the correct page as he had no knowledge that the new models were released yet!
After speaking to many reps they said that ivy bridge will be released in the uk on the 2nd of may, funnily enough, my m14xr2 got shipped today hopefully with ivy bridge inside :P
Hope it all works out for everyone
P.S i got 18% of my m14xr2, 8% student discount and 10% from my previous order the m14xr1 which i had to cancel due to the new releases!
Best to ring up reps and haggle =)
