Alienware desktop customization themes and wallpaper collections

This is compatible with all AW systems and can be used to restore your original if you wiped them.

I believe we have erawnelia to thank for this.
I recall one of his posts where he mentioned getting with the SW folks to put this together.

In a future update, we need to ask them to include user icons as well.

In the event of a clean OS install, copy/paste the wallpapers to:
C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\Alienware (you will need to create the Alienware folder)

Alienware official avatars collection (by BatBoy).
User Pictures/Icons/Avatars (whatever you want to call them) are found here (this is a hidden directory):
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures

Note: Until AW adds these to the wallpaper pack, you can grab them here (attached).

How to change the startup screen (by BatBoy).
To use the Alienware Red Glyph wallpaper as your Startup screen, see:

Or when you delete the default startup screen following the tutorial (By Batboy and myself) below and leave it blank,
you can use external software like Stardock logonstudio to change your startup screen much faster.

Check your C:\WINDOWS\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds directory.

There should be a JPG in there titled 'backgrounddefault'
If you delete that or change the name your computer will use the default windows7 startup screen.
You are now able to change it with other software.

I created this post because i saw alot of different threads popping up and i dont want to be searching for everything in a few months when there no longer on the first pages so i combined all them and added some extras like the screensavers and madcat theme and the sounds. The3vilGenius

Im gonna add some cursor fx themes and some dreams (deskscapes) later tonight. I know not everyone can use them but for people who have stardock software its nice to have them together in one list. Be sure to link me to everything worth putting in the list.

Quick question. Is there any possibility that the old screensaver (alien hands I believe it was called) may have a better quality version? It looks pixelated and as if it has been shortened because the Alienware logo just barely flashes.

In case anyone wants to know how to change their Windows 7 Startup sound:

1) Download ResHacker.

2) Open ResHacker. Open the C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll file in ResHacker.

3) Find the folder that reads "WAVE" and expand everything below that.

4) Right click 1033 (this could have a different name depending on your locale), and click "Save [WAVE:5850:1033]". This is a backup of the original windows startup sound, save it where you please.

5) Right click 1033 (this could have a different name depending on your locale), and click Replace Resource. Click "Open file with new resource", and find the wave file you want to replace it with. Once you're done, in Resource Type, type "WAVE", in Resource Name type "5080", and under Resource Language type "1033" (or whatever number you have). Once done, click Replace.

6) Click File, then click Save. Save it on your desktop.

7) Drag the new hacked Imageres.dll into C:\windows\system32 directory

Well it is an old screensaver so the resolution probably is maxed out. Not sure about it being shorter. I had alot of trouble finding one so if anyone else finds one maybe he can compare them.

I heard people having trouble setting the sounds? Thats strange, i just change them in windows sounds in the configuration menu and hit save then it gives two choices: windows sounds or custom windows sounds and i choose custom windows sounds and that does the trick for me.

Windows 7 doesn't give you that option. At least I don't think so. Post a screenshot if it does and I'm wrong, I would love an easier way.
