Re: Not a gamer but love the style of alienware
I would not recommend alienware for traveling because the battery is very bad.

Mine lasts 6-7 hours in power savings mode on Integrated Graphics. I don't know what you're about -- it's not a world record in battery life, but pretty decent.

Well I can't know what he was thinking, he certainly didn't say so... he made a statement about AW in general. Which is wrong.
About the other models, yeah well I wouldn't take any 15+ inch laptop on a travel to be using during the trip, unless I had a personal servant who's going to be carrying it."Bellatrix" Intel Core i5-3570K | Corsair H60 Liquid Cooling | G.Skill Sniper 8GB 1866 MHz | Gigabyte GeForce 660 Ti 2GB | Intel 330 180GB SSD | Samsung 2TB HD | Razer Deathadder | Razer Scarab | Biftenix Recon fan controller | NZXT RGB LED controller | $3 card reader | FiiO E7 DAC | Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO

Re: Not a gamer but love the style of alienware
Based on your needs I would stick with the Dell. I was in the same boat as you. Had my eye on the XPS and then started drifting towards the alienware. But one day it dawned on me. Why did I want an alienware now? I finally realized it was just really good marketing that hit my "cool factor". In the end the money was not worth it for me. Good luck with your decision.
