I refused to call multiple times...

I did it the same way that I buy cars...do my research (and this thread was very helpful for seeing what type of prices people were getting) and then I gave Dell a bottom line price that I was willing to pay and very politely told them that it was non-negotiable...I also mentioned that wasting my time with incessant e-mails that got closer and closer would irritate me and they would lose the sale...

I don't do all the coupon stuff...I'll let the Dell rep figure that out...

But if Dell could offer an x% off on a laptop a couple of weeks ago then obviously Dell can sell it at that price point and make a profit...then and now...

Of course, it helped that I'm buying an m15x (to replace my m1710) and an m11x (toy...show-off...airlines)...

I got both decently spec'ed (no SSDs and the 720 processor on the m15x and 4GB of RAM for each) for just under $3000 which includes TN state sales tax of almost 10%...

Not the best deal on here, but it was one 10 minute chat session with a bottom line offer, and then four e-mail quotes (two per machine) later and we were there...besides the research, cost me about 30 minutes of my life...

This method won't get you the best deal because I feel that you have to come up with a fair price, but it saves me a lot of time and aggravation...and at this point in my life, time and quiet are sometimes more important than money...

$1150 after tax and shipping for the SU7300 (didn't need it but it was the base EPP configuration), 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Bluetooth, and the Gobi antenna (and this was the feature that essentially sold me on the m11x so it was crucial to me)...

That's about $170 off the EPP final price...(and not counting the little extra for the DPA 3%)...

And you can do the math for the m15x...that's where the bulk of the savings came for me...almost $400 off for the m15x after the 10% EPP discount...

Bing CashBack for Dell is now 10%!

Might be a good way to go about it for some folks here.

It seems it was not mentioned earlier..

Mostly the extension nums for the rep ll never get answered.(even if it gets anwered.. it might not be the same rep u were looking for)
Its always better to email the rep (probably.. early in the morning.. as after evenin u ll get automated replies)
When u ask for rep's details in this forum u better get the email ids and mail em..
and dont try to haggle on the mail.. they might never call u.
just briefly say u are doin so and so..and need a laptop asap.. and ask if he can call u at (so n so..time)

@dallow.. u sure tht bing works on alienware??
if any1 tried that and got it worked..please post here .

This wud definitely be an easy way to get a good discount if you use EPP and DPA. The total comes out to be 23% discount. Advantage wud be that you wont have to deal with the BS from the Sales rep.

    Really? How do you know?
Seems to work on everything else on the site from TVs to mouse pads.

I just don't think you can use it on the EPP site however.
