Re: Alienware laptops and their respective ODMs
Hey Goren. That info about the boutique gaming rigs and their odms is great, but I have a question. Do you know who dell contracts out to for their laptops and what model they correspond to? Also, I know dell does not make their own lcd monitors. Do you know who does? The info would be really appreciated.
thanks

In regards to their LCD monitors, they are usually the OEM, most of it is Samsung. As for notebook LCDs, most of these notebook companies don't make any of them. Virtually all come from come from AUO, LG, Samsung, etcPC notebooks with Thunderbolt Port:
Acer s5, Lenovo T430s, Lenovo S430, Asus G75 VX, Asus G55 VM, HP SpectreXT Touchsmart 15

Re: Alienware laptops and their respective ODMs
If you are asking what are the generic versions of a dell they dont exist. While dells pcs are built by someone else their designs are for dell alone there is not a non branded version. once in a while there is one but rarely.

Re: Alienware laptops and their respective ODMs
Goren, do you know the ODMs/models of the new Alienware Area-51 m5550, m5750, and Sentia m3450? The first two are Uniwills I believe, and the latter a Clevo M540N.

Re: Alienware laptops and their respective ODMs
Correct.
This M5750 i'm typing on is as good as a brick
Apparently Alienware has a parts website which sells parts for their laptops. I had it written down somewhere but when I tried to go to the address either I wrote it down wrong or the customer rep gave me a bogus address..
