nvm i just checked my cable. it was a rgb cable with a bunch of converters on it. only the rgb to dvi seems to fit and the dvi to hdmi isnt fitting for some reason. i thought it did

seems like you cant convert rgb to hdmi as rgb is analog and hdmi is digital. basically you cant convert with a cable >>. there is a way but its not really a viable option.

time to edit my other post

You can do HDMI to DVI, but not to RGB. It has to do with some kind of encoding of the HDMI signal.
There are adaptors that will be able to do this, but will cost you a small fortune (over $100).

Thinking about getting the m15x? Think again. Read this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/show...90&postcount=1

This is due to HDCP compliancy. Both ends of the HDMI cable require a "handshake" to confirm a digital signal and connection. As RGB is analog, it won't work.

    Edit*

HDMI-to-DVI will work fine as well as DVI is HDCP compliant.

well you could always take the risk. its only 4 bucks. if it doesnt work its not a big financial loss. when i saw a hdmi to rgb converter cable there was a big black box in the middle of the cable

    something like this

    --------------------------|----------|
    HDMI Connection ---------|----------|---------------RGB connection
    --------------------------|_________|

its not the best illustration but thats the best i can do it

that cable was around $100 too

i don't understand how that could possibly work (the 4 dollar cable i mean). but by all means, give it a shot
