That's a nice framerate. Are you playing in DX9 or DX10? DX9 will be noticeably smoother with no discernible difference in visuals.

I'm thinking that it is the patch Shima. Maybe drivers aren't the main reason.

@roadrunner - it depends on what you are using this notebook primarily for. If you are just gaming and typing, like me, the lower res is fine.
If you are into design and editing videos or pictures, then you might need the extra res & desktop space.
Believe me, I've had the higher res 1920x1200 on my previous m5550 and it really isn't needed for basic tasks.http://thewarningsecondcoming.com
