    Angry 680m Sli vs Toaster.exe

Hi when I first got my machine I upgraded to the newest beta drivers, everythin went fine (304.79).

I then used the nVidia utility to start sli. There was a conflict with toaster.exe an Alienware / Dell service. You need to turn this off inorder to put the system in Sli mode.

Seems a bit odd but there it is..

Please be aware, I do get a BSOD with the nVidia drivers whenever I restart the machine. I need to go into system repair etc. to get started again

Toaster.exe is part of AlienRespawn and it does not need to run all of the time. In fact, having it running all the time causes issues as you have discovered. Launch services.msc and disable SoftThinks Agent and that should do the trick. AlienRespawn will still work correctly.

Congratulations on your new machine. Let's see what that 680M SLI setup is capable of.

Mr. Fox is totally right just go to msconfig, services and disable toaster from there and startup as well.

    Hi all

Just to let you know 304.79 is working all the time for me now in sli mode.
    Steps:
    1) In Sli I got the BSOD and ended up in the "system restore" utility
    2) Selected - repair system
    3) system booted, but driver was out of sli mode
    4) Removed "toaster.exe" from both services and startup. (the other answers to my post tell you how)
    5) Put system back into Sli
    6) everything seems fine now (crosses fingers)
