I'm not getting any stability in BF3 with the 12.7 Beta he listed, even on medium settings it takes a bit longer to lock up but after a 10-15 minutes it will lock up. My FPS on Ultra seem somewhat unstable as well, but stay above 60FPS for the most part.

At this point I'm just enjoying gaming on one card while I wait for Dell/AMD to get their act together.

i understand you dont like to bench but you cant say some thing is working for you when you dont have it and havent tested it..
to date 15.5 has been the best driver for these cards imo

If you head to AMD's driver download section, and choose desktop graphics, 7000 series and get the BETA listed there - it is a 29June version. I clean installed it, and the 12.7 caps. Seems to be working good in BF3 and Max Payne 3, haven't tested others yet.

Seems the desktop Catalyst 12.7 beta is working very decently for me.

I updated the opening post with new drivers available for download. I am getting good results with the desktop Catalyst 12.7 beta and CAPS 12.7. Issues with Skyrim, Crysis, Crysis 2 and Batman Arkham Asylum appear to be resolved. So far, every game I have run is working fine. (DumbDumb, 3DMark06 seems to be working properly, too.) Still not ready to declare victory without further testing, but things are definitely better with these new drivers. No artifacts, screen tearing, black screens, freezes or BSOD. I did do a clean OS install last night to get rid of all the old garbage driver crud, so anyone having issues may want to try that. AMD drivers are buggy enough without old files and obsolete registry entries corrupting things.

Yes. I never disable CrossFire. In fact, when I change all of the registry entries for EnableCrossFireAutoLink to a DWORD of "1" I cannot disable CrossFire. It switches back to being enabled automatically by itself.

You can use the new versions of HWiNFO64 and MSI Afterburner that have been released since I wrote the "how-to" tutorial.

FYI - Afterburner's OSD does not work with native 64bit games/apps (i.e. 3DMark11 64bit) and it causes 3DMark06 to freeze with 7970M CrossFire and crashes with a DirectX error. So, kill Afterburner when running 3DMark06. (Those that have NVIDIA GPUs don't need to worry about 3DMark06 crashing or freezing with Afterburner OSD. That never happened to me with GTX 580M SLI.)
