WELL 7970 engeneering sample huh.. should i be mad?

ok so I was testing windows 8 to see if the Driver for it is any better than 12.5 beta and this is what I found.. now I don't know if I should be mad or not.. also on a side note.. with the installation of windows 8 preview every look enriched and all around better.. from photos to movies to youtube videos.. to the brightness of the screen..

well here is what I found..im a little upset and stumped and dumb founded by this.. my cards are straight from Dell/Alienware.. also could some one else install windows 8 on a partition and see what it says for you if you have 7970s please..

Can someone please confirm? This may just be a early win8 beta driver deal... I would try myself but my computer isnt fully functional right now after my fun dell repair today.... I MISS MY M18X ALREADY!!!

ok let me clarify this.. I never got around to installing the drivers.. I went straight to device manager to see what was found and what was not..
and I noticed this.. now ive never seen or heard of a card coming up as an engineering sample.. even with beta drivers.. correct me if im wrong.. but these would be engineering samples of the cards if there found that way in the device manager.. with out any drivers..

i did the system score thing and it goes from 1.0 to 9.9 and i got 7.9 across the board except for the hard drive..

oh and so you know what ever drive you use make sure you take out your main partion windows drive.. it will make you think you just lost all your info and have to press f9 every time you boot up..

I really hope our cards arn't ES... that would prove that these cards were release prematurely... Well then again, we already know that with the lack of decent drivers...

I installed W8 release preview the week it released and my 5870m cards also showed as engineering samples in device manager. (with the windows drivers)
After installing AMD's Windows 8 drivers they showed as Ati FirePro cards.

Is just a glitch in the W8 release preview.

I had win8 when i got my 7970m and it said engineering sample there for me. I looked it up on different forums and people said that windows 8 incorrectly detects it as ES card. Dont know what to believe.

They are not ES cards....and windows 8 is still "preview"
