Default Just talked to AW, returning my 7970m Crossfire m18x.

So I received my laptop yesterday, installed BF3.... and all I get is BSOD and stuttering. I've tried every driver under the sun (12.7, 12.6, 12.5, Dell drivers, 12.4, 12.3) and nothing will get this thing running smoothly.

I called tech support and I was basically told Dell has no answer for this until AMD releases a new driver. We are in the process of returning my laptop (they are sending me a box to ship it back). They have offered to upgrade me to SLI 680Ms at a $300 discount + a backpack (which I don't need since I already have an Everki Titan). Not sure if I will take that offer or wipe my hands of the whole mess, if they give me some extra warranty I might reconsider.

    ableTekkin,

In my opinion, take the discount and the backpack. Sell the backpack on fleabay, and enjoy a whole new level of gaming experience

I'm going to wait for other people to get their 680m SLI systems, I wanna hear first hand from other customers how the Nvidia cards run and see some more benchmarks. Also by that time AMD may have some working drivers out.

Just my experience when everyone was having issues with the xfire6990 last year I ponied up for the 580m sli system and have not had one issue outside of the latest official drivers killing my bf3 performance but beta drivers fixed it for me and it's better now then when I ran on 296.10 drivers. That's just my experience tho.

No luck, my m18x with 7970CF works wonders since I received it.

If it was a driver issue then everybody (including me) should have BSOD and problems. But, I didn't have a single problem since it arrived, more than a month ago, although I use at least 4-5 hrs per day with all kind of games and apps. So, I doubt your problem is a driver problem.

These days : GuildWars2 (beta), Diablo3, StarWars:TOR, WoW, LoL and some older ones (KBAP etc).
The drivers I use are the ones the M18 was shipped with (Catalyst version: 2012.0402.2221.38086, Driver version: 8.934.2.1000)
I suppose that crossfire is working, because the 3DMark test gives the usual results (about 11k @ 3DMark11 GPU) and also, because the framerate is divided by two on most games when I disable the Crossfire feature on the Catalyst center)
