    Default M18x Wireless/Ethernet Connection Issue

Just finished a clean install earlier today and everything was perfect. Around 6pm last night Internet connection went out. I figured it was the modem since it tends to go out occasionally. I realized that all the other appliances that connect to the same network worked fine. I reset modem and router, no luck! Ipconfig /all shows no media connection on all listings and device manager says everything's good. Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: Dell tech support claims its an issue with the ISP and not hardware related which is good, however I can't call them cuz it's not my Internet so I have to accept no Internet for a while.

So with either ethernet or wireless you have no connection?

If it's both,It might have defaulted the connection to public, do you remember what you selected when you first connected it? needs to be home! (you might have done this but has court me a few times so just checking)

Yes it is both and I believe I had set it to home. How do I change this if it's not?

    go to the following location

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center

in there it will have View your active networks
it will have your network name and below that it should have a picture of a house

if it doesn't, select the picture, could be a bench or a building meaning either public or work, and then it let's you choose, choose the house

This is all I see! It just says identifying and then after that it disappears. Above I see my computer a line with a red x through it connected to a grey Internet globe.

okies, you currently trying to connect with wireless, connect an ethernet cable to the modem and see if it connects with that!

Actually spoke too soon. 30 minutes after posting that Internet was gone again. My laptop was the only machine not connecting again
