Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread - Part 2
So guys, is $450 a good deal for a 2920xm (engineering sample) that has a slight white cloud on teh die? I figure I can always sand it off and smooth it out.

Time for the Chief to take the Extreme CPU for a spin!

we gotta catch Terry702 LOL!
Cheers.
Quite pricey there Joker, However it does seem to be the cheapest one going atm. They used to be priced at like $300 or just a little bit over which is an insanely good price. I remember when I paid like $350 for my 920XM ES.
Hopefully someone can get some more and sell them for $300 odd again.
Cheers.

Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread - Part 2
These numbers are looking nice!
A few things though... 3dmark06, you are covering up the screen size. Trixx does not need to be in the picture, that's why gpuz is there.
And of course amd ccc tessellation is set to off and not let application decide.
Your result has the following problem(s) and will not be shown for example on leaderboards:
Benchmark tessellation load modified by AMD Catalyst driver, result invalid. Check your video driver settings. (What is this?)
Processor is not recognized (What is this?)
Graphics driver is not approved (What is this?)
Side Note:
53x Multiplier Validated. Woohoo!

Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread - Part 2
Ah Jonny!
Sorry man, I was trying to move everything around to try to get a nice SS lol!
Yeh it seems it's the only way to compete with the Nvidia GPUs atm. Especially in 3d mark 11 or Vantage. Tessellation is done so much better with Nvidia GPUs atm.
I've noticed quite a big difference especially with Mr. Fox and Joker's benches. The comparison scores in Vantage are quite pronounced when the main difference is mainly the GPU and slight CPU clock speed difference. Nvidia is definitely on top in that one!
I would like to try and push for 30k in Vantage though. Although I may need some coaching.
I quickly had a try at 45x Multipliers but it kept BSODing when trying to load up into windows. Will try again another time.
Oh and awesome CPU score!
Back to FOLDING!
I can't wait to get my hands on some 7000M or 600M GPUs.
Cheers.
