Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread
Is it possible to undo any work with it? Wash it off? I may use it instead of pin modding my M11x R1 if it is possible.
Also, on the CPU, where the pen has been used at the edge? what was the point of that particular mod?Candy White (soon) Clevo X7200 | Desktop i7 980X 4.1GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 485M SLI | 2x 256 GB SSD | 2x 1TB Internal HDD Drive | 24GB 1333MHz | 1920x1080 B+RG LED | Killer 1103 | USB 3.0 | Win 7 Ult | Linux Mint | NuForce uDAC-2 Audio | Blu-ray Burner (Converted to External) | Vantage: 30238 | 3DMark06: 26917 | 3DMark11: 7346

Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread
You can use Pin grabbers which are effective in clinging onto chip legs if the spacing between each leg is sufficient enough.

Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread
Chips for VRM's come in all shapes and sizes. I haven't looked at the chip in question here, if the spacing is sufficient you can use this.
Those grabbing points are very small once they are retracted into a tight vice.

Re: *OFFICIAL* Alienware M18x Benchmark Thread
yessir.... kind of hard explaining extra solder on your cards for rma. and most people will try to rma it. also has a 50/50 chance....they take it or they void ones warranty and send it back as is or ask you to pay for new cards...all depends on what tech is working that day.
hummmm..like to see how your going to put that on a m18xr1 gpu pcb with the laptop closed up. but hey...you are the man if you can!

good for testing...but if it slips off and hits a component..there goes your 3k laptop. me...i did that with a 600 dollar desktop card...M18X R2 | I7 3940XM | GTX 680M SLI | 2 Vertex 4 256 GB Raid 0 | Vertex 4 512 GB | Msata 240 GB | DVD | 16 GB 2133 Mhz |
