Additionally, there is alot more memory bandwidth than there was during the Core 2 days making cache hits less of a penalty in performance. Cache takes up the majority of the space in CPUs (IGPs excluded) and results in alot of the power and $$ cost.
If i could choose to have additional cache in place of the IGP i would be happy. Oh well these things are beasts.

i concur. this thing is a "beast" in battery mode. blowing past allot of other notebooks/laptops & netbooks. hell..you can game using "one" gpu and still breeze past the competition.

    it's different with oem speedy.
the oem just jumps to 90 to 99 watts with in a few seconds...highest i get is a max 0f 90W on a very very good day.and that's over time.

    not really. 300 vs 1000
and that is only noticed during benching. with better than normal usage. it still far exceeds those expectations. and i would rather have this over anything paid for above a 2630qm....(oem 2920xm/2960xm) excluded.

now with that being said...im upgrading any old ways...lol

    side note:
    2.4 vs 2.5
    more watts apparently
far higher voltage. (1.5 by residualvoltage and 1.45 by scook9 and 1.46 by da_g)
    we cant get past 1.351
