no, 675 = 580. They just renamed it. The 675 is still 40nm

    i can't wait!

THere are rumours that the 7970m will only have 1280 stream processors because the 7870 desktop had 1280. This is also a possible route. If this is true, then the 30-35% increase in performance over current gen top cards will drop to about 15-20%

Personally, i don't care. I will have a 7970m soon so we'll see. The big thing for me is the 28nm process and the 65-70w tdp. My temps will be ridiculous

The cards will fit. And chances are it will work. It is the nvidia cards that are a devil to get working. You will lose about 1 or 2% of performance because it will be limited to MXM 3.0 while the R4 will use MXM 3.1.

I can confirm that the 7970 will install easily, and the computer will boot up but no current driver supports it. You will have add the device id to the inf file(s) for the drivers to install

The 7970m will be the best mobile card available until the 680m comes along...however, the 680m will just be comparable. The 680m will not blow the 7970 out of the water (based on leaks). And the 7990m should steal the thunder away from the 680m

yes, switchable should still work. We will all know soon enough

it also appears that official vendors are quoting the leaked specs on the 7970m

    i.e., 1536 stream processors, 800mhz core, 1200mhz memory

Only a core of 80Mhz off a reference 6970, and 175Mhz memory. Looking promising

Will be a great upgrade for all you AMD users. =)

I am also looking forward to the 680m. (i can live with the 1-2% performance loss)

Hope Nvidia will get cracking with my new 680m now that AMD once again relase a nextgen gaming GPU

Not gonna say anything until I see some raw, unrated 7970M benchmarks. If it's better than an overvolted 580M/675M I will be getting it for sho'
