Re: Alienware M17x R4
even if the card doesn't do great numbers on 3dmark, it apparently is on par or faster than a desktop 560ti...then i'll have it cranked another 15-20%
. This is good enough for me to play games at speeds that i'm comfortable with...but i'll definitely post some screenshots
I'm guessing that this is correct. Cereall, if you're worried about warranty, keep the original cardM17x R3 | i7 2820 | AMD 7970M | 12 GIGS DDR3-1333 | Crucial M4 SSD 128gig | 320 GIG 7200RPM | 1920x1080 60HZ | Sound Blaster X-FI usb

Re: Alienware M17x R4
Dear guys, I just got my new Alienware M17x R3 on the 19th of April. It is Sandy Bridge i7 2670qm 2.2 ghz with GTX 560M graphics card. I just looked at the Alienware website and they have got now new graphics card and possibly will get Ivy bridge processors on 23rd of April as well
Please can anybody suggest what I should do? Should I return the laptop right now and get the new M17x R4. Is there any kind of risk returning the product. I have just opened the laptop, however, all the CDs and manuals are packed. I really love my first alienware computer, but I thought if i'm spending so much money I should get the new one. Looking forward to your reply..
P.S. I looked in the dell website in sweden, and they have 14 day return policy or something like that.

Re: Alienware M17x R4
no one knows yet since we havent have it in hand. But if you intend to do so, I would suggest to get a M17x R4. There may be some minor changes, a few screw here and there, missing ports etc that would be too much trouble when you try to swap motherboard.

Re: Alienware M17x R4
No one knows whether the IO ports will line up. As I've said many times before, nobody knows until we actually see one in person.
It's like saying will the engine of the new unreleased Ferrari that no one has actually got yet fit into my one year old Ferrari?
