Default Guide: Flash your GTX 580M to GTX 675M in the R3!

Stock clocks (620/750) and voltage: Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2920XM Processor,Alienware M17xR3 score: P3593 3DMarks

Overclocked at 750/900 and stock voltage:

Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2920XM Processor,Alienware M17xR3 score: P4264 3DMarks

    CPU @ 40/39/37/37

    ---

I can confirm that it is 101% safe to flash a 580M to a 675M, so go ahead folks!

One will need a modded .inf file since Nvidia does not support the 675M just yet. Also bear in mind that this does not fix the 78C throttle, as every single Nvidia card will throttle at that temp in the R3.

    ---

Drivers and modded .inf files: Drivers | drivers for mobile cards and laptops | laptopvideo2go.com
I suggest the latest WHQL certified drivers.

The following vbios are Dell in nature and have been dumped from a Dell GTX 675M from a M17x R4.

    0.87v vbios: 675m.rom

    0.92v overvolted vbios: 675m92v.rom
Do NOT use Furmark or any other stress tool with this vbios, it will kill your card. Ensure you keep your card as cool as possible - this vbios is for benchers and extreme overclockers only.

Use this guide by widezu69 to flash your card: [Guide] 580m GTX throtting fix. No need to modify system Bios.

    ---

    Thanks to:

Little Washu for the Dell GTX 675M vbios
    svl7 for overvolting the vbios
pau1ow for the original Clevo GTX 675M vbios
    widezu69 for his flashing guide
Me for testing all vbios and confirming that they work perfectly.

Not bad. I can actually spoof the card name using only an inf mod

Well, Geo said that the power throttle is still there. Geo, wrap your laptop in some blankets or something and get it to 78C to see if it throttles
