Re: GTX 675M in the R3!
Blink_c, did you buy the nvidia 3d kit or use 3DTV play with a 3d tv (and glasses)?
I'm asking as I first bought an MX18 but when I called Alienware support about what works they told me (totally wrongly!) that the MX18 could not do 3D and even sent me a link to a very old Nvidia doc stating external 3D only works through a dual-link DVI connection - before the advent of HDMI connections. As I had only just got it I sent it back for a 3D MX17.
Just thinking about a future purchase

Re: GTX 675M in the R3!
The tech was right in a way because the M18x won't output 120Hz thru HDMI. You would need to use the miniDP port instead to either DisplayPort or dual link DVI.

Re: GTX 675M in the R3!
No problem.
In that case it will depend if the TV/Monitor can output 120Hz using the HDMI input, not many do so watch out for this marketing trap.
Anyway, your options are:
-get a TV/Monitor with a DisplayPort input and you'll need a miniDP to DP connection.
-or one with dual link DVi input for which you'll need a miniDP to dual link DVi adapter (they run at ~ 85$ - 100+$).

GTX 675M in the R3!
NP, Thanks blink_c.
Makes the purchase of a tv/monitor a little tricky, and I guess you loose sound over that so now I'm wondering if going for a 3DTV and using the Nvidia 3DTV play that is built into the driver (I believe, I know it is a purchase if you do not already have their emitter) is a safer option...
Thanks very much, never straightforward, and with spending a bunch of cash I'd like to get it right first time

Re: GTX 675M in the R3!
If you choose the miniDP to DP route, sound is also transferred unlike DL DVI
