well, like i said many times previously, the members on here know their stuff. BUt lets do some testing first and see if there is any longevity to the throttle fix and that there are no issues before we raise our hands completely

This is a great day for 580m owners though...finally a ray of hope

Lmao, I'm just a guinea pig more than anything. But... bad news!

Tested it in a game and it throttled at 78C. It seems like anything identified as an Nivida card in the bios, will throttle at that temperature.

    Oh well.

this means the throttle is being applied at a device ID level. Is there a way to spoof that?

Now if we can spoof it and make the bios think it is a AMD card...

Stock clocks bench: Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2920XM Processor,Alienware M17xR3 score: P3593 3DMarks

How does it compare (the GPU score, not overall)?

Making it appear as a AMD card is just not possible, imagine the driver issue and stuff.. and you would need to mod the vbios and stuff.. just not possible.

Well I have posted benches for stock clocks and overclocked clocks so you decide based on the GPU scores!
