Have you tried it alongside the latest Dell driver for the 675? Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]

3D won't work because the system bios only approves the 460m, 560m and 580m.

Hi guys, I cant seem to get the card to accept either one of the roms- gtx 580m or the 675m. Furthermore im using the latest drivers from laptopvideotogo- 302.59 with the inf file.
How would i go about adding the id's for a gt 675m to be recognized to be flashed?
I have attached an error msg when attempting to the flash the card. hopefully someone can help me out with this because im absolutely struck

    Try this:

    nvflash -i0 -4 -5 -6 romname.rom

With the latest version of nvflash.

thanks for that katalin, worked like a charm yet I cant get it to work with the 675m rom. It doesnt detect the nvidia card after the restart and i think its because i dont have the id's for that card in my inf file. Also on a side note the latest drivers for the card are rubbish. Im experiencing frame drops in BF3 and arkham city which never happened before..

The inf files from laptopvideo2go LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers work just fine, also you're not using the ROM from the first post?

Download the drivers from Nvidia and download the corresponding inf file from the site above, and overwrite Nvidia's inf file.

The R3 will not support 3D with the 675M/680M because it's not supported in the bios like widezu said, doubt Dell will be adding it in.

OK guys. Since I'm wearing the corporate hat, and I saw this conversation, I have to say something official. Please consider this. Official statement: “Mods like this one are not in line with Alienware designs specs for the system. You increase the chances of causing long and/or short term damage to your system components. There is the chance that if a failure analysis engineer can determine what you have done that your warranty will not be honored in cases where mods like this can be determined to be root cause of component failure."

It might be a risk worth taking...saves having to upgrade for a long time.

Does it actually DO anything? The 580m and 675m are the same card, same speed, same scores. Unless there is some 6XX only feature this unlocks I can't think of any good reason to do it.
