fujiploy 6w/mk pads seem to be very good.

in the UK, its hard to get...however, the phobya 7w/mk pads are easily attained on ebay.uk

Ok time for some good news

After repasting and raising up my laptop it seems to help a tiny bit. I tried unigine 3.0 benchmark again, and again it throttled.

However i downloaded HWiNFO64 and it seems to have fixed my problem
Ran unigine again and no throttle.

i have tried different system bios and i think A04 was the best i tried A07,8 and 10 and they seemed to have made it abit slower for some reason.

Also am using 301 nvidia drivers by widezu69 and used a modded inf suppiled by a different site. I think they are desktop drivers ones but they work fine with all the games so far i have tried.

The biggest improvement was definately downloading HWiNFO64, it pretty much didnt make my games or unigine benchmark throttle.

Only thing of worry is that, it does get quite hot as you can see in the sensor log ive supplied in a link after running unigine for 1minute. The high temperature doesnt seem to effect the performance so far. Will try and get more benchmark stuff posted here soon. Not sure if i can overclock this as its hot enough already... but i will keep u guys posted.

thanks GeoCake for the link suggestion.

^^ you shouldn't need to blast the fans to not throttle

Lol its so far helped alot.

I think the only way i can make it cooler now is to probably use a different thermal paste like the one you suggested the mx-4, and probably a laptop cooler as well..

So far seems to run pretty good

Here are my results form a overclocked gtx 460m
    675>800, 1250>1500

And from my gtx 670m stock clocks.

Or maybe because the EC in BIOS doesnt have the GTX 670M info and its fan profile so the fan doesnt work. So he had to manually set the fan.

^^^ Could be. But normally, the fans go full blast if the card isn't specified in the EC?

Just for note I noticed that although the hwinfo fix is designed to set the fan profile to cut in earlier and use the max setting, it appears a side effect is disabling the 78 throttle? I saw this when testing, somehow i accidentally managed to disable the faster fan speeds and saw the temp climb to the mid 80's without a throttle before i spotted it. I can't confirm this though as since a repaste I never see more than 73C and i'm not too keen to push this card too much...

Makes sense Long/Slick, however isn't it concerning for akiratang to be reaching 95+ degrees WITH 100% fans, and WITH raising the back?? Assuming ambient temperatures aren't 30c + there must be something with the installation or the card itself that is astray.. After all, many R3 owners can cool the king of power drawing monsters/heat the 580m with relative ease, so presumably the 75 tdp 570m/670m should be somewhat easier to cool, yet this is clearly not happening :"(

In anycase brave akiratang I wish you luck sorting out this challenge, and with the help of some of the most prominent and sagely of Nbr members things are bound to go right!
