    as i was saying before my post got deleted/moved.. thank you Froogle for pointing here.. i learned its produced in China

    China -> US -> Canada -> Montreal
    From nov 30 to today dec 13..
    all i see.. its STILL in production, didn't moved an inch, probably not shipped yet, no mail, no call, nothing.

    Next time, it will be faster to buy a baseball bat and mug an M17X owner! [off course, im kidding.. even tho our alienware backpack/case advertise a pricy laptop to robbers by the alien logo on it]

    Looking back through the threads (there are 3 others prior to this one - that's how heated debate is on this topic) it averages about 7 or 8 days from order. However, there have been cases of it taking 3 weeks or more (but they are rare). On the flipside, there have also been cases just a couple of months back where about 4 people got their machines with zero updates on the Dell site - it flipped to In Production and stayed there, and remained there even as Fedex/UPS handed over the machines.

    Truth of the matter is, with Dell, you really have to just sit and wait. In your case I'd be on the phone every day - you may at the very least get free stuff out of it.

    Well, I followed my own advice and ignored my order status completely. Today I got a phone call from Dell telling me the M17xR3 I ordered on the 6th was in production. An hour later I got a shipping notification.

    Should be here tomorrow Can't be soon enough as I've had to work this week on my M11xR2 - it's a fine machine, but struggles a bit under the weight of numerous VM's and Windows dev tools.

    Yeah I'm looking forward to it greatly. I have a directory here full of stuff I've downloaded that must go on the machine rapidly. Also tying with whether or not to run Virtual Box for my Linux work or dual boot. After reading the threads about the modified bios and how to disable the IGP I think I may just go with Dual boot and get REALLY blown away.

    yea not dealing with opti-mess is really nice, and with the modded bios you can run linux, (might have to work on that one of these days)

    I'm just playing with system to check any faults. seems all good. I might install modded bios. I have AMD card but I never plan to use iGPU. Another thing is modded bios give us more options. BTw i have A09 bios.
