Re: M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4
It seems like a pretty good deal. It has the 120 hz 3D screen and the higher spec processor. Plus, the 2 years accidental and tax are not cheap. If you really want to compare you need to post just the unit price, not the total price. Tax rates vary, and I don't know what the warranty is off the top of my head.
Still, it seems like a pretty solid deal.

Re: M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4
So I placed my order on the 3rd and as of today (the 12th) my M17x is still in production at Dell. Is this normal? My rep pretty much assured me the laptop would ship before the estimated date of the 20th.

Re: M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4
Been looking here and there for an answer... maybe some you guys know what's what... I know it looks silly but is there a difference between their estimated delivery date and the estimated ship date?!... Because for me they are the same (on the statuses)... and if the EDD is the time I'm gonna get it to my door then it will be late cause it's still showing in production... EDD 01/16/12 5-7 plain shipping... we're the 12th... and haven't received an email stating that it's delayed or shipped... Sick of waiting I must say
I just hope my dec. 29th order is not putting me in the hdd waiting line!!!!

Re: M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4
Hey seems HDD are causing the delay on delivery. Heres an email for dell rep
The order is Pending Production because of a Part Shortage and the recovery date is given as 13th. The Status will change to “ In Production” after the 13th and the estimated date of delivery is on or before the 20th of Jan.

Re: M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4
Yeah that's what I figured out today too. I ordered mine the second, the part shortage is only on the 500gb HDD, or the 1TB, which is 2 X 500gb. Everything else isn't delayed. They said the average delay for the 500 is 7 days and the TB is 17 days. He informed me that mine should be shipping tomorrow and should be here monday or tuesday. I'm glad I ordered mine when I did though, prices went up 3 days later, got mine through EPP, M17X, Stealth Black, Intel Core i7 2670QM 2.2GHz (3.1GHz w/Turbo Boost, 6MB Cache), 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz (4DIMMS), 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M, 500GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s. Got it all for $1300.

Re: M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4
I'm caught in the loop: ''Yes sir it will ship in the next 2-3 business days'' since monday so just not believing them anymore... originally I was told that it was shipped on jan. 6th...

I'm a little annoyed. They promised me my M17x would ship today and my tracker is still "in production"
Ugh... C'mon Dell!
UPDATE: I talked to another rep "Laura" and she assured me that her tracking tool reported my M17x as shipped. The order tracker on my end still shows "In production" ... She was unable to give me a tracking number and told me to call customer service.Last edited by darkdomino; 13th January 2012 at 08:25 PM.
