And they still may leave a note saying that they "tried really hard to deliver, but no one was home" - true story. I did it once and was actually online all this time checking on the delivery progress only to find out that status has changed to "Delivery Exception". Sure enough when I checked my front door there was a note from FedEx. So, I would advise against taking your sick day.

Hmm.. so I guess that rules out being in Canada as being the reason why my shipping is taking so long.

Haha yep, I've been there too. Sit home in the living room by the front door all day and the guy shows up during the 2 minutes you're in the bathroom

The better time to take the sick day is clearly the day after the computer arrives so I can screw around gaming all day.

I had to cancel my M17x order and reorder again. Heads up for everyone who has AAFES account, there is a huge discount on all AW units.
I got the same unit for much cheaper.

That before or after tax because that's ridiculous. I have pretty much the same thing except with 500GB and blu ray. Came out to 1780 after tax.

There is no tax for AAFES purchases. It's final price.

Damn. Ordered in the evening of 4/30 and mine shipped yesterday. They tried to deliver it today, which I would have stopped except I didn't get an email that it had shipped until 30 minutes ago

Now I have to wait until Thursday. At least I'll have it for the weekend.

That's the solid part, weekend fun experimenting!

I can't wait to pick mine up tomorrow.

Yeah, I could go pick it up tomorrow if I call up and hassle them but by the time I drive to the depot and back and get everything opened up and running it will be time to go to bed anyway. Fortunately it's only 'indirect' signature which means I can sign the door tag and they will leave it at the door on Thursday. I was thinking that they'd use direct signature.
