    Any news on the R4?
I did, but I took the money and put it into the R4. Which may be delivered today. But I'm thinking that now I don't need the R4 so I may bench it for a while, and then trade it off for a desktop. I havn't had a desktop in over 10 years so I'm itching to get a decently priced one or piece one together. Especially since most of my gaming is at home so it'll be nice to have an affordable system thats pretty powerful. Don't think anyone with an R2 has gotten a 7970 yet. Maybe one person, and if I remeber right he had a Dell card and it gave fan issues. I'm waiting to hear how the Clevo cards work.

As BF3 is the only game I play, I can say that I can't run it with my usual o/c (980/1450) but I have to lower it to 965/1450 so that it is fully stable @ multiplayer.

Also just to give you an update, I have done some quick testing with the overvolted vbios (1.075v and 1.1v) with BF3 (1000/1500) and it seems my machine doesn't like it at all as I've got shutdowns with the higher voltage after few minutes.

Got a shutdown also with the 1.125v vbios when running 3dmark11 so I guess I have reached the limits of my card (1030/1500 @ 1.1v only for benchmarking)

I will keep the 7970M @ stock voltage anyway, I think that's more than enough.

    I can run BF3 Ultra @ 975/1400.

if i bump the ram any higher, its not stable unless i drop the core to 967mhz

It does make sense so you are probably correct, because you can see the difference between a 3820QM and 3720QM in the Vantage runs..

Flex should be at 0. It's only needed for 4.5Ghz on ALL cores and higher... It tends to produce very high temps when CPU requires that extra voltage. So it's not needed at all.
I've read it at Ivy Launch or a bit before, when the OC capabilities were posted in a news.
I thought its a Desktop only feature. But it seems like its also available on mobile too.
Or Intel didn't say that's Desktop only and Dell made it into Alienware Notebooks.

Factory default for Flex VID is 25 whatever that means... That's why i said he should lower it, because Ivy does not need 1,26V for 4GHz

Edit: I linked the Image for mobile OC.
3610QM isnt supportet. So it's really not a Dell feature! Only four CPUs are capable of +400MHz. BLCK should be editable too!

Edit2: It should be editable via Software in Windows! We will see

Feels like both Clevo and Dell cards aren't good overclockers as their desktop siblings... 950/1400 tends to be the most stable frequency for 24/7. May be Sager cards will show some muscles!
Should be exposed in a bit...

    Thanks, very good to know!

I think the latest version of Intel XTU allows you to change multipliers within Windows.

They all use the same core manufactured by AMD.

thanks guys I havent actually try it like that. I was testing the core clock while setting memory clock at 1500 or 1550 at the time.

    Spoiler :

Anyways I'm done with GPU benching for now, gonna work on 5Ghz on the CPU
I'm stable running 1Ghz core and 1200Mhz on the memory just to say that I have a full 7870 in my laptop but I'm sure I can run at least 1000/1400 24/7 stable @1.1v

widezu can you try BF3 both campaign and multiplayer just to see if you can run the game at that clock?
