Realistically when will this laptop show up? In Jan at CES? Or will it take more time?

After reading some 3Dmark06 scores,I think the 6900m should perform more like a desktop 6870.

The 6900m scores 20155 according to the first post.Since the resolution is unknown,so let's say they are running on default resolution(1280x768)...then the score should be less than 20000 in 1280x1024 without questions.Desktop 6870 scores similarly on 1280x1024 with 18000+ to 21000-(without cpu oc)

The 5870m CFX setup scores a little bit slower than /similar to the desktop 5870 due to slower clock speed, and the desktop 5870 scores very similar to the 6870...

AMD usually use the medium-high end single gpu as the highest end mobile gpu, that's why single mob 5870 only performs like a 5770(desktop).They might continue to do this by putting 6870 into notebooks as the 6900m...

That's just my speculation though :P

I thought that it would be available for purchase immediately after release of sandy bridge. Wont Alienware lose their edge if they wait to release it?

He didnt say US, he said we are the exception. I would agree that a large portion would like to see 3d, and that would be the younger owners and young gamers. 3d has a lot more cool factor than RGB, even though RGB fits most of our needs better.
Has anyone even read that the screen wont be RGB 3d???

IMO Alienware is usually behind in technology. I'm not expecting Alienware to release sandy bridge right after CES because Notebooks are always behind by at least a few months when compared to desktops, and Alienware is usually a few months behind other notebook manufacturers.

In the past when AW has released new systems at these conventions they made them available to order right away. Just like the M17xR1 was unveiled at E3 and available for ordering that day.
