It's so weird that it happens randomly. Sometimes it's perfectly fine.
When did you do your last fresh install?

I do one every 3 to 4 months and have not had major spikes like you mention with all the correct drivers installed.

I'm getting latency while playing videos in full screen mode, and on Starcraft 2. It presents itself as choppy video in starcraft, but on videos i don't really notice it.

Interesting. I am almost willing to bet this is a case of SC2 & the driver not playing nice. Hmmm... is it at a certain point in the game?

You mention videos in full screen mode - youtube, powerdvd? Need a bit more detail on that side.

Can you update to BIOS A06 and check again? I dont believe there is any DPC connection with the 17xR2 so the A05 to A06 shouldn't matter. Just suggesting it from a 'current release' point of view.

For starcraft its whenever i scroll on the map, thats when the video gets choppy.
And yeah youtube. I haven't tested it out on powerdvd or other media players.

no worries - glad its resolved (youtube). with SC2 it is probably the driver and game just not playing nice. Post back if you find more info.

As mentioned before, BIOS A04 + current dell posted display driver should resolve that spike.

If it does not, then you need to run a trace which I have added a link to Stamtisx's trace thread in post#1 of this thread.
