ok i ll try to help you as you helped me. let me think about it. i am not like Dell.

i would recommend to shut it down completely and remove the battery. leave it like that for 10 minutes

whats your power plan? play between high performance and balanced. check if the red spike exists on both of them and with or without battery

if the problem still occurs then i would advice a new format with the correct driver installation sequence as i described a few posts before. dont keep so many oses even though they are not used at the same time. you never know.

and you have hdd not ssd right?

Just curious if anyone has had this problem as i haven't read about it anywhere. When i use Vent, people say it sounds like i have a fan running behind me. I always run the built-in mic with regular ear-bud style headphones. I tried an external microphone and had the same result. I went ahead and ran the Sound Recorder and recorded my voice over both and they sound exactly the same, like there is a big fan sitting by my head. Is this a grounding issue inside the laptop, or (hopefully) a driver issue. Thanks for the help guys!

I had a similar issue with mine. I want to say there is a setting in the Realtek/IPD manager where you can cancel out the 50 or 60 hZ hum. That is what I had to do with mine. I also switched on the echo cancellation. No more background noise introduced from the computer.
Feeling a little lost without a laptop. First time in 5 years without one... Withdrawals...!

    Hi Guys,

I have tried the fix posted by John from Dell on their community forum here.

But I am still having video stuttering problem doing this, log into the character screen of Dungeon&Dragon online (windowed mode) and playing a 1080p sample avi file that comes with windows 7. The video will be skipping not in sync with the sound.

Anyone can try doing some sli 3d apps in windowed mode and playing back a 1080p avi file?

You expect from a laptop to play a game and a HD movie at the same time without dropping frames?
I hope you are not confusing the M17x R1 with Cray XT5 Jaguar...

    Hi stamatisx,

Sorry if the machine is not suppose to do that, any suggestion of what kind of video playback will be within the system spec with a sli 3d app running?

If you are going to be running a game, then play a game. I think it’s a bit unreasonable to expect to play a game and watch a video at the same time without have a bit of a performance hit. When I play a game, I'm focused on the game. Then again, that’s just me.

Have you ever been able to do this before on this system or any other laptop? Just trying to understand a bit better.

I have a external 24inch LCD attached my previous laptop and I usually play World of Warcraft (WoW) on the ext LCD and run downloaded youtube videos on the laptop screen either for raid videos that other guilds have posted on the web or wiki for boss fights and ventrilo running.

After getting this laptop, i have not install WoW on it yet as I have stopped playing WoW.

Maybe i will go install wow and test it out again.
