A good start is pretty much disabling ALL startup items in msconfig and working from there

Well, I would go a step further by disabling also the services installed by those programs

Ya I also do that, nothing that aint by Microsoft is enabled in my services except for the display driver

This is not a Dell support forum. It is a Dell COMMUNITY support forum. Any help you get is out of the kindness of a stangers heart.

It's been said ad nauseum, if your PC is broken talk to Dell. You ask other users for help when there is a minor problem not when you can't use your PC or you are completely unhappy with it. As soon as I started calling Dell support I got my problems fixed. I could posted here forever (like some of you are doing) with no resolution.

Why is that so hard to understand?

i am saying what i see. 3 months for a script fix that just removes the nvidia controller driver instead of fixing anything looks like just making fun. As for the problems they shouldnt exist from the beginning. Regarding win7 they shouldnt release this machine with win7 before testing the crappy drivers. This is my opinion and i respect yours.

I have latency, peaks around 5000 though depending on what I do (browsing is the big culprit). Another problem is that I have random freezes in Firefox, IE and PDFs. Just did it to me about 10 minutes ago. You can move the mouse but can't click anything. Lasts 20-30 seconds. Then all your clicks suddenly register. It's not the fault of the broadcom wifi though since I replaced mine with an Intel 5300.

same story as mine with same range red spikes and under those circumstances you referred. you could use gpuz in parallel to check what i checked already. gpu clocks go up when those spikes occur. those freezes are rare or nowhere to be seen for me though.

Whats sad is that i havnt really turned mine on much since i have had it due to all these issues. The beta driver is step in the right direction but its unstable for me. I basicly have a 3k desk ornament. Im prolly going to end up selling it. I have tried going through Dell support to get it replaced and they refuse, im just tired of dealing with it.

well most of us have our computers running smoothly with a few tweaks. The beta driver is a real fix for the dpc issues from Gpu's.If the driver is "unstable" maybe you need to reinstall using batboys guide that along with nhancer provides a great gaming experience at least for me. have no issues using my pc. I would just like you to get some joy out of your multi thousand dollar investment.

i understand how fantatic is feeling. he just wants a download from dell that will just run and fix it permantly. i can fully agree with him. it has been awhile.
