    Default M15x Can't run starcraft 2?! help

I don't have a vast knowledge about computer parts or anything, but I bought this Alienware M15x expecting it to run my favorite game. Starcraft 2. I can't even run it on low. I get 0 fps on all graphic settings in starting in Mid-game. Stealth Mode is NOT on. I know about that stupid little button that fades slightly when off. It's stupid. But this should not be happening people post saying they can run it on ultra and maintain 30+ fps. .

I have 6gb of Ram, the i7 processor at 1.73 GHz. An ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 dedicated 1gb graphics card. Can anyone help me?

Have you checked that it isn't in Stealth Mode?

This does sound odd. I can run SC2 fine on high with a lowly 260m.

Are you plugged in? Also check your power management plan to ensure you're on "Performance" mode.

Also install the latest drivers for your card, make sure PowerPlay is turned on on the drivers.

Ah god... -.-" Sorry guys, tired...

I'd say do an all round driver update in Safe Mode, see how that goes.

I can run it fine on my 5850.

The 5730 is a decent card but not great, but should run the game playably in some setting. I'd be tempted to check the power management too. I've got a similar machine but with the 5850 and it runs like a champ. What resolution are you in and have you tried reducing it?

Have you tried using a different game? I know a lot of people were having serious performance issues after the latest SC2 patch.

ATI 5730M is not a very good card. It was the stock card offered in the R2, and if I recall right, the best one you could buy was a 260M. I guess the 5730 should be able to run the game, but if so, I doubt it would very well. You might be having heat throttling issues, try checking your temps or feeling the sides of your laptop where the exhausts are. Use GPUz or HWIN to monitor temps.

I had the 5730 right when Sc2 first came out. It could run medium fps~60 and high ~30

maybe your M15x isn't plugged in? Have you tried reinstalling Sc2 or using another game?
